New Driver Tools and Resources

Driver Education: First Time Driver Tools & Resources

Our driver education program begins the process of helping new first time drivers become safe drivers. We have developed our learner permit course to provide both the parent and new driver with resources to educate and train throughout the process. Highlighted below are the additional tools including a driving contract, driving log, driver education handbook and safe driver bulletin used for new driver education.

Parent-Teen Driving Contract
One of a parent's most important responsibilities is teaching their teen to drive, and training shouldn't end once the teen is licensed. Parents and teens benefit when they compose a practical contract of rules regarding driving expectations and car privileges. Our Contract guides parents through the process of creating this agreement. This resources if offered on our Basic Learners Permit Package.

Teen Driving Experience Log Book
Florida's Graduated Driver's Licensing law requires parents or guardians to certify that they (or an adult 21 years old or older) have accompanied their teen driver for a minimum of 50 hours (including 10 at night) before the teen can apply for an operator's license. Our Log makes it easy to track the hours parents spend training their teen drivers. It also serves as a teaching tool by giving parents a record of the driving maneuvers practiced, the weather conditions practiced in, etc., so parents can ensure that the training process is complete.

Safe Driving Teen Bulletin
This monthly newsletter for parents and teens is designed to improve teen driver attitude, behavior, and skills. The bulletin covers topics that are timely and relevant to teen drivers. Parents are encouraged to use the articles as springboards for discussions about safe driving with their teens.

Driver Education Handbook for Parents
When parents teach their teens to drive, they provide a driving foundation that will carry their teens through the rest of their lives. But it's during the first few years of driving that teens are at highest risk of being involved in a fatal traffic crash. The Parent Handbook provides a practical, step-by-step approach to instructing teens on how to become a safe driver through behavior, attitude, skills, and experience.

Our learners permit course includes these tools and more to make this transition easier for the parent and new first time driver. Learn more about our learners permit packages today!
